Coffee cultivation in the province of Loja has been an activity passed down from generation to generation, where coffee farmers living on their small farms have developed a deeply family-oriented vocation for producing coffee. The family takes care of cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest processing, ensuring a special commitment to the product that leaves their Farm.

The “Lojano Coffee of Origin” Corporation was created, made up of producers, processors, and marketers from Loja, supported by the Coffee Roundtable of the province of Loja. With their joint effort, the Ecuadorian government granted them the official denomination of origin on May 27, 2019. This designation serves as a mechanism for protection and differentiation, giving consumers the assurance that the coffee they are purchasing comes from the production areas of the province of Loja.
